Vinay Kalsi
Consultant Urological Surgeon
Mr Vinay (Manvinder) Kalsi was appointed as a consultant adult and paediatric urological surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust in 2015, where he is also the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Surgery.
Vinay trained at Guy’s & St. Thomas' medical schools, qualifying in 1998. Having completed general surgical training in London & Surrey, his Urology training was in South London, Surrey and Sussex including Guy’s and St. George's hospitals.
Vinay developed a specialist interest in paediatric urology early in his career and completed his specialist training at internationally renowned London paediatric centres - Great Ormond Street Hospital, UCLH and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
He was appointed the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Surgery at Frimley Health in 2017 and is deeply invested in the well-being of our younger patients. He has developed the paediatric urology service at Frimley Park and covers all areas of general paediatric urology including undescended testes, foreskin problems, hydroceles and hernias, hydronephrosis, vesico-uretric (VUR) relux, urinary tract infections, dysfunctional voiding, enuresis, haematuria and hypospadias.
His experience of functional urology is unique having had a three year tenure at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London; treating patients with complex urological and neurological conditions. His impactful research played a pivotal role in the licensing of innovative treatments, specifically botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for neurogenic bladders. Vinay’s time at Queen Square also granted him unparalleled proficiency in urodynamics and experience in incontinence surgery, experiences he now brings to the forefront in his role at Frimley. Consequently, at Frimley, he is part of the regional pelvic floor MDT, performs video-urodynamics as well as incontinence procedures.
